Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to your data when you visit sailtelemetry.com. In short: we don't ask you for any personal data, we don't set cookies, and we only measure visits in an anonymous, aggregated way.

What we process and why

Delivering the website

To show you a page, your browser sends a request that includes your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser type and the referring page. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure, so the legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

• Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc. and its EU entities) sits in front of the site as a content delivery network and protects it against attacks. Cloudflare processes these request data on our behalf. Some processing may take place outside the EU; Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and also uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Hetzner Online GmbH hosts our server in Germany. Our web server does not keep access logs of visitors.

Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, see which pages are read, which sites link to us and how fast the pages load. It does not set cookies, does not use your browser's local storage and does not build a profile of you across websites. We only see aggregated figures. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies

We don't set any cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to tell humans apart from automated traffic during an attack.

Emails you send us

If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and delete them when they are no longer needed for that purpose.

How long we keep data

We don't store request data ourselves. Cloudflare keeps request and analytics data only for the limited periods set out in its own policies; we only access aggregated statistics.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We reply within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Hungary this is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH, naih.hu); you may also contact the authority in the EU country where you live.

Changes

When the site starts offering accounts, downloads or purchases, this notice will be extended before those features go live. The date at the top shows the latest version.
